Accessibility on websites
What is accessibility? Why is it important to take it into consideration when we create a website?
What is accessibility on websites? In the year 1998, the US government created “Section 508”. This section was joint to the “Rehabilitation Act of 1973”. As a result, this law regulates the accessibility of information on the internet. Therefore, all government websites must be accessible to every user.
To explain why this topic is important, we have created an infographic that contains guidelines and common mistakes in the creation of accessible websites. We did it to help raise awareness and help our fellow developers get their website up to standard. Fear not, just a few tweaks and additions are required to help users navigate the site.
We hope you find it helpful. Please share it! So more people are aware of the benefits. Let’s make the internet for everyone.
